Training

Strengthen your expertise

Technical training for IMA customers: building the expertise that supports machine and production performance.

IMA offers customers a comprehensive training programme aimed at developing the technical skills required to get the most from installed machines and production lines.

Training includes:

  • Customised courses developed step by step
  • Training paths designed around specific roles
  • Content adapted to the equipment installed
  • An e-learning platform available at all times

Training formats

Different training formats are available and can be chosen individually or, more commonly, combined to create the most appropriate learning experience.

Theoretical training

Group classroom sessions include learning assessments and the issue of a training certificate.
Individual learning paths also include assessments and a training certificate.

Practical training

On-the-job training is delivered directly on IMA equipment by an IMA Trainer.
Digital guides can also be consulted offline using the IMA Smart Service Suite App.

Training locations

Training can be delivered:

  • Remotely
  • At the customer's site
  • On site at IMA

Delivery methods

Training can take place through:

  • Autonomous training sessions
  • Training sessions led by an IMA Trainer

Training topics

Operate the machine efficiently, react more quickly and build stronger overall machine knowledge.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand all machine-related safety aspects
  • Identify machine sub-assemblies and understand their functions
  • Understand the structure of the control panel
  • Learn how to carry out the pre-production phases
  • Properly manage production follow-up activities
  • Correctly perform post-production activities
  • Use the command-and-control panel
  • Identify the size parts required for changeover
  • Respond appropriately to the main machine faults

Operate the line efficiently, minimise production stoppages, reduce reaction time and strengthen overall process knowledge.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Learn how to synchronise all equipment in order to correctly bring the complete line into production
  • Understand and control equipment conditions and functional relationships throughout every production phase
  • Respond appropriately to the principal line faults
  • Manage the line effectively, limiting downtime and improving responsiveness
  • Build a deeper understanding of line behaviour throughout all stages of production
  • Develop greater autonomy and efficiency when managing full-scale line operations

Carry out size changeovers efficiently, reduce set-up errors and keep downtime to a minimum.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and correctly use IMA technical terminology
  • Follow the appropriate size changeover procedure
  • Manage any necessary recalibration of machine settings
  • Reduce the time required for size changeovers
  • Minimise the risk of incorrect settings
  • Prevent machine faults or damage resulting from incorrect installation

Supervise, control and optimise production processes using real-time monitoring and data-driven information.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Use SCADA Supervisor processes for production management and troubleshooting
  • Effectively manage and analyse system reports
  • Use real-time monitoring to support fast and detailed interventions
  • Improve efficiency while reducing operating costs
  • Identify problems at an early stage and help prevent production stoppages
  • Use advanced diagnostic capabilities to identify root causes
  • Increase security through continuous system monitoring
  • Improve the transparency and traceability of operations

Make decisions based on reliable data and evidence

Protect product sterility and process integrity through correct GMP management, supervision of critical parameters and process control.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and apply the principles of GMP management
  • Supervise and manage equipment cycles and processes
  • Create and manage new production recipes
  • Analyse and control critical parameters to ensure sterility quality throughout line processes
  • Develop full confidence in managing sterility control across every production phase

Strengthen diagnostic capabilities, make maintenance more efficient and contribute to smooth, reliable machine performance.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the primary causes of malfunctions
  • Assist IMA during diagnostic and troubleshooting activities
  • Perform maintenance efficiently to minimise production stoppages and shorten reaction times
  • Operate machines efficiently, reducing downtime and optimising performance
  • Increase technician autonomy and improve operational efficiency

Develop individual competencies, improve performance in day-to-day operations and encourage continuous improvement through personalised guidance.

Coaching is designed for production operators who already have a basic understanding of the equipment and its main processes and want to expand their knowledge of the machine, its components and its operation under real working conditions.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Strengthen their skills and improve individual performance
  • Work on specific problem areas through focused one-to-one guidance
  • Move beyond simply understanding "how to" perform a task and focus on "how well" it is performed
  • Benefit from a bottom-up approach shaped around individual needs and questions
  • Reflect on their own development and make constructive feedback part of the improvement process
  • Address defined improvement areas using clear benchmarks and measurable objectives
